English learners have an advantage when they can use both languages equally well? 

What is the advantage?

They need to gain academic language. Why should every teacher, no matter the content of the grade level, be concerned about academic language?  What is entailed in academic language?

Why should you understand these three? How can you help English Language Learners achieve through academic language? 

What is the best purpose for a bilingual program?
